Beach Treasury

As you can imagine, the beaches in Miami are beautiful.  Sometimes the ocean is as smooth as a turquoise mirror.

Other time during bad weather, ocean is quite rough and dark in color.

My recent visit to the beach was not very successful.  When I decided to go to the beach, it was clear with a few clouds.  The raining season in South Florida begins in the morning where the sky is virtually clear with only a few clouds.  Almost every afternoon is filled with fast-moving thunderstorms originating from the everglades (west of Miami).  It’s the same pattern almost every day.  You can almost set your watch with this daily weather occurrence.  The beautiful part of the raining season is as fast as the thunderstorm appears, it disappears and we are left with a beautiful rainbow.

Upon my arrival at the beach, I saw interesting sea shells and began collecting them.  Ten minutes later, after laying out my beach towel and collecting sea shells, the smooth turquoise ocean turned violent as the wind picked up.  The clouds collected in the sky very quickly over the beach.  Within minutes from the first wind gust the sky opened with heavy rain.  I found myself huddling under an umbrella of the neighboring beach resort; stuck with my towel and sea shells and no where else to go.

During the ten minutes of the down pour, I looked at the sea shells that I had collected.  That is when I first conceived my idea to create gift  boxes.  That day, I designed 4 gift boxes.  These gift boxes can be used for many different occasions; such as anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, baby showers, graduations, etc.

My Daughter's Birthday

Today, I would like to describe how I prepared for my daughter Karina's birthday.  Although this event happened a few days ago (May 1st to be exact), I decided to paint a painting for her new house.  Since she had just moved into this new house, It was almost empty... :)

A few weeks prior to her birthday, Karina had told me that she dreamed of having a painting of poppies.

So, I decided to begin painting poppies.

Painting absorbed all my spare time for several days. However, once I finished the painting, I was staring at an abstraction of poppies, in 3D. To paint this painting, I used mixed media, acrylic, on canvas.

In addition to the painting that I painted for Karina, I made a brooch for her with a personalized letter "K" (for "Karina").
The brooch was vintage, and I used citrine and pink opal to make it.

Just a day or so prior to Karina’s birthday, I decided to also paint for her a greeting card -  poppies again :)

My birthday girl, along with all the guests, were pleasantly surprised by my gifts and gave me many compliments.

Flowers from one bouquet....

My first post about a bouquet of flowers...

What can inspire the creation of jewelry?  Certainly flowers.

                    Flowers surround us everywhere.

I wish to present you photos of a bouquet of multi color flowers.

I made a necklace which has as much color as a bouquet of flowers.
